Tamara Pinckney
AVP of Human Resources & Systems Operations
For more than 20 years, Tamara Pinckney has provided human resources for small, medium, and large companies in benefits, talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation, relocation, immigration, compliance and law, and operations.
As AVP of Human Resources and Systems Operations, Tamara partners with the CEO and senior leaders to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate talent acquisition; talent management and development; organizational design; succession planning; employee relations and engagement; compliance; compensation and benefits strategy; IT/data management; and systems integration for the Center. She develops and leads human resources and systems operations strategies across the organization in support of the Center’s goal to amplify its impact as the region’s leading authority on inclusive growth and economic inclusion, and its executive leadership as a trusted thought-leader. She leads the area of IT innovation and is responsible for maintaining a collaborative work environment that nurtures individual autonomy and accountability for performance goals and excellence.
Prior to joining the Center, Tamara was Director of HR Operations at Travelers Insurance Company since 2015, where she led a diverse team that managed all staffing operational needs while maintaining compliance with the ever-changing landscape of laws and regulations. She was a lead member of internal project teams focused on onboarding and the employee experience, diversity, and developing a corporate governance model for the company’s office of Diversity & Inclusion. She was also Co-Chair of the Travelers St. Paul Diversity Committee facilitating partnerships on behalf of the organization throughout the Twin Cities and a founding member of the HireRight Customer Advisory Board.
Tamara is a current founding member of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter of Women for Good. She is on the Advisory Board for Customer Experience Certificate Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato, lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association; and holds memberships in the Society of Human Resources Management, Twin Cities Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Roundtable, Delta Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, City of Lakes Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated and Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
Tamara holds a Master in Business Administration from Strayer University in Washington, D.C., a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.
