Rebecca Toews
Communications Manager
Rebecca comes to the Center having built a wealth of cross- platform communications experience. Her skills are anchored in community engagement, video production and storytelling and were enhanced by spending more than four years in a newsroom, producing content that helped audiences understand their diverse communities.
Most recently Rebecca served as the community relations specialist for the City of Roseville. She also worked in communications for the non-profit Bridging and has a wealth of professional experience in the news media, videography, and other communication vehicles. In considering this role at the Center Rebecca stated, “Too many people speak the language of anti-racism, without doing the work to break down racist structures and institutions. I am still constantly re-assessing, unlearning, and learning how to do this work. I believe it is my responsibility to work where I can, to help this work be amplified and used by organizations in meaningful ways.”
Rebecca said she looks forward to working across CEI and resonated with our spirit of collaboration and values of shared accountability and remaining a humbly confident learner. As Communication Manager, Rebecca will partner with thought leaders across the organization to execute traditional, digital, and multimedia communications to shape the local and national dialogue on inclusive economic growth, foster accountability about actions to drive inclusive economic growth, and position the Center as a leading and trusted voice on the actions employers and policy makers can and should take to close racial wealth gaps and accelerate racially inclusive economic growth.
