ABOUT the Powering Inclusion Series

Powering Inclusion is an ongoing series of events designed to equip leaders to lead through a lens of Race + Place + Income to position the Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) region as a hub for talent, investment, and innovation to increase our economic competitiveness.

The series includes an Annual Summit and Fall Forum where we elevate new voices and strategies, foster deeper cross-sector connections, and promote immediate ways to drive growth and inclusion in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

More than an event series, Powering Inclusion is how we move from Awareness to Action to Accountability.

Annual Summit: Hundreds of change-makers from our region and beyond came together on June 22, 2023 to gain the tools, solutions, and momentum necessary to shift from closing racial equity gaps to powering the full economic inclusion that will build generational wealth in Black and Brown communities.
October, 2023 Affirmative Action Forum: A growing base of well-resourced organizations are fighting to dismantle federal policies designed to racially diversify colleges, organizations, supply chains, and communities and address historic wealth extraction from communities of color institutionalized by American policy. We know that the path to racially equitable employment, income, and wealth must be laced with anti-racist public and private sector policies to drive systemic change. But do we know how to anchor these policies in changes to conditions that uphold systemic racism?
December, 2023 Housing Forum: At our final event in our 2023 Powering Inclusion series, we will explore employer strategies and policy actions that impact livability, employee engagement, recruitment, and retention. Hear from our panel of experts in the public, private, and non-profit sectors as we address the critical questions that Minnesota employers must address to build competitive housing solutions.
This virtual workshop will examine innovative approaches to accelerate equitable and inclusive Housing and affordability.
We know these solutions need to be inclusive not siloed—that it will take the combined actions of employers and public policy to get toward real solutions in inclusive housing.

Each event features known and emerging regional and national disruptors and local leaders to discuss how to activate inclusive growth and offer data-driven, cross-sector, community-centric solutions to increase economic inclusion. Event participants have the opportunity to learn about and commit to adopting specific inclusive practices. A closing reception provides the opportunity to make new connections.
