Tawanna A. Black - Founder & CEO, Center for Economic Inclusion

Tawanna A. Black is a nationally recognized thought leader known for influencing, inspiring, and equipping cross-sector leaders to transform a personal conviction for equality into actions that produce equitable and thriving communities.

In 2017, Tawanna launched the Center for Economic Inclusion, the nation’s first organization dedicated exclusively to creating inclusive regional economies by equipping public and private sector employers to dismantle institutional racism and build shared accountability for inclusive economic growth.

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tawanna leads a team of people who offer ground-breaking consulting products and services to move businesses and local and regional governments from diversity and inclusion programs to triple bottom line results that are good for employees, employers, and communities; foster shared accountability for regional inclusive growth; change the narrative about the economic imperative and value of closing racial wealth gaps.

Tawanna is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program. She has a Bachelor of Public Administration Degree from Washburn University in Topeka, KS.

Tim Boudreaux - Director, Culture & Engagement

Timothy (Tim) A. Boudreaux brings more than 25 years of industry experience in diversity, equity, and Inclusion leadership, recruiting, staffing, new hire training and development, and performance and productivity improvement.

In this role, Tim helps plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate talent acquisition; talent management and development; employee relations and engagement strategy for the Center. Tim’s work supports Center staff in maintaining a collaborative work environment that also stimulates individual autonomy and accountability for performance goals and excellence.

A veteran leader at Cargill, most recently Tim served as Global Inclusion and Diversity Inclusive Experience Consultant. In that role, he was charged with leading business resource group strategy, overseeing governance, and acting as the diversity, equity, and inclusion lead for relationships with the resource groups.

Heidi Dodd - Logistics & Trip Support

Heidi Dodd is a results-oriented leader with 20+ years of experience successfully managing initiatives that are broad in scope, require cross-collaboration, effective partnerships, and utilize a combination of data and partner feedback to achieve results. These are prized assets Heidi brings to the Center.

As Sr. Project Manager, Heidi is an accomplished project manager with a proven commitment, understanding, and application of racial equity and inclusion lenses. She leads enterprise level, cross-functional and complex projects, with a goal of improving the Center’s work to achieve our mission to close racial wealth gaps and build inclusive economies that benefit all.

Rebecca Toews - Logistics & Trip Support

Rebecca comes to the Center having built a wealth of cross- platform communications experience. Her skills are anchored in community engagement, video production and storytelling and are enhanced by spending more than four years in a newsroom, producing content that helped audiences understand their diverse communities.

As Communication Manager, Rebecca partners with thought leaders across the organization to execute traditional, digital, and multimedia communications to shape the local and national dialogue on inclusive economic growth. She produces content that helps position the Center as a leading and trusted voice on the actions employers and policy makers can and should take to close racial wealth gaps and accelerate racially inclusive economic growth.
